In order for OhmConnect to prove that you are saving energy with our program and pay you for your efforts we need PG&E to send us your smart meter data.
PG&E is now taking care of this connection and approval step on their site, so we will not ask you to enter your PG&E user name and password on our site, it's handled with just two clicks!
We highly recommend doing this step from a computer rather than mobile phone due to slow mobile response time.
Please go to your settings page and click on "Connect Utility" found under your Utility Details widget.
You will be asked to confirm your zip code and your utility company provider - in this case, please make sure it says "Pacific Gas and Electric."
After confirming those information, you will be asked to log into your PG&E account so please enter your log in credentials.
You will not need to fill out any information here, it will already be populated with your information, and you will only need to select an account if you have multiple homes so please make sure you select the current house by clicking on the blue triangle in the box "Select all Service IDs for all Accounts."
Once you are done confirming your information, click "submit" at the bottom right-hand corner. You will be redirected back to your OhmConnect dashboard.
Tips & Tricks & Other Notes
- Great news - we don't ever store your utility credentials! So don't worry about any issues sharing your credentials. We don't have access and will never do anything with them.
- We are required by the state to receive and submit billing, meter, interval usage, program participation, and customer information to be able to pay you for reducing energy. None of this information includes things like your Social Security number or payment information.
It includes data points like other energy efficiency programs you may have signed up for in the past, if you have gas or electric accounts set up, the meter ID associated with your physical meter, how fast your meter collects your data, and historical data, which the state uses to calculate your forecast.
